brilliant, brilliant biopic of the first openly gay person voted into public office in the US. a compelling movie about politics, civil rights and homosexuality. gay rights FTW.

disguised as a vampire flick, but really its a tender story of restrained love, crushing loneliness and bitter lives. its gory, its horrific, its poignant, its bittersweet all at once, not forgetting a very fresh take on vampire movies in general.
forget Twilight. Twilight's just fluff lol (sorry twilight fans.)

fantastic cinematography, a real work of art depicting the gritty world of thatcher-era england, and how the skinhead and ska culture became a front for racist groups. this one really had my fullest attention for an hour and 40 mins. not one part of it is boring or draggy or anything.

ah yes. In Bruges. excellent screenplay, darkly humorous and some tender moments. sharp dialogue from its characters never make it too indulgent and brilliant acting by Colin Farrell make it all entertaining and unpredictable. and Bruges, as a setting for the film: absolutely beautiful.

really really looking forward to Slumdog Millionaire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. but nobody gives a shit about actual good movies these days. philistines.

Man, listening to Shugo Tokumaru's song Parachute makes me feel young again - like i was riding my bicycle around the estate on a clear sunny day, ringing my bell at anyone who waved at me, with a dollar in my wee little pocket (one dollar was enough to make you feel rich back then as a kid mind you, i could afford 3 of those paddlepop ice cream. Baywatch the movie just ended on tv (super lame) during my station duty when the fire coding sounded. Jumped into the fire engine in less than a minute and holy fuck it was a case of a road traffic accident along BKE. Expected, 'cause it really was raining quite heavily that afternoon. Taxi VS Tree. Upon reaching there it was all bloody and the paramedics were all over the taxi already, attending to the taxi driver, an old uncle. 'What's the sitch' I said, and they said 'dood the driver's pinned under the dashboard lolz'. His side of the door, his only way of exit, was smashed/dented/bent/scrunched/trashed by the still standing tree. Even if we could open his side of the door, his exit would still be blocked by the trunk, as if the tree refused to let him live. Anyway. What happened to his passengers? The couple were in the ambulance, conscious but groggy and stunned by the charming turn of events.

Standard procedures; we ripped away the other door at the driver's side with a hydraulic steel cutter and pulled him out gently, all bloody at the mouth and chest. Face pale, he gurgled the bit of blood trapped in his throat. Sent him away to hospital along with the 2 disoriented passengers. Okay casualty rescued, lemme get out of the rain. I looked at demolished taxi again. A look in the back seat revealed a smashed up swensens strawberry ice cream cake and a ripped up bag of red balloons. All made extra rubious with the blood on the floor of the cab.

Such is the bleakness of circumstances; you're on your way to some birthday bash, you're the one in charge of bringing the cake, you brought balloons, hurrah hurrah, and the next thing you know you're flying through the windshield with your head smashed in.

hey dudes. I know I've been too busy training at civil defence academy to bother about friends or photography. Those days are over! I got my sergeant chevrons 2 days ago, so! I'm a recruit no more. That being said, I did take some pictures to remind me of the good old days as a trainee.

An oil tank caught fire. Hot shit.
